COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

A Respectful Space for Learning and Support

Hunters Helpers community spaces are intended to help caregivers, DSPs, professionals, organizations, and community members exchange encouragement, practical ideas, and educational information respectfully.

These guidelines apply anywhere members can post, comment, reply, suggest a resource, interact with another member, or participate in a Hunters Helpers community feature.

Last updated: August 2026

Protect People Before You Post

Community participation is voluntary. Before sharing anything, consider whether the information is necessary, appropriate, accurate, and safe to place in a community environment.

Never post client-identifying information, protected health information, confidential records, passwords, payment information, or information you do not have permission or authority to share.

Communicate With Respect

Members may have different roles, experiences, identities, communication styles, and opinions. Disagreement is allowed; disrespect and harm are not.

Do
  • Address ideas and actions without attacking the person.
  • Use calm, professional, and understandable language.
  • Ask questions when you need clarification.
  • Respect names, pronouns, identities, cultures, disabilities, diagnoses, roles, and lived experiences.
  • Allow other members to participate without pressure or intimidation.
  • Correct mistakes responsibly when reliable information becomes available.
Do Not
  • Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, stalk, shame, or target another person.
  • Use hate speech or discriminatory language.
  • Encourage violence, retaliation, abuse, neglect, exploitation, or unsafe treatment.
  • Make sexual, degrading, or demeaning comments.
  • Organize harassment or ask others to target a member.
  • Retaliate against someone for reporting a concern.

Do Not Share Client or Confidential Information

Hunters Helpers community spaces are not appropriate places for client records, case documentation, protected health information, personnel files, or other confidential material.

Do not post or upload:

  • Full or partial client names
  • Photographs, videos, or audio recordings of clients
  • Screenshots of messages, portals, schedules, charts, or records
  • Diagnoses or detailed medical information
  • Medication names, doses, pharmacy information, or treatment details
  • Home, work, school, program, or service addresses
  • Birth dates, identification numbers, insurance information, or account numbers
  • Staff schedules, transportation routes, appointment schedules, or daily routines that could identify or locate someone
  • Case notes, incident reports, behavior plans, assessments, treatment plans, ISP documents, or legal records
  • Details that could identify someone when combined with other information

Removing a name does not always make information anonymous. A combination of age, location, diagnosis, schedule, family details, photographs, or circumstances may still identify a person.

Think Before Sharing a File or Image

If you need help with a situation, describe the general process or question without including identifying or confidential details.

Do not upload screenshots, worksheets, photographs, recordings, documents, or correspondence unless you created or own the material, have authority to share it, and have removed information that should not appear in a community space.

  • Do not post another person’s private message without appropriate permission.
  • Do not share workplace documents, agency forms, client materials, or internal communications without authorization.
  • Do not photograph or record a person in a care environment for community content without appropriate permission and authority.
  • Do not assume that information is safe to post simply because it was already sent by text message or email.

Keep Advice Within Appropriate Boundaries

Members may share general educational information and personal experience. Community posts and replies must not be presented as individualized professional services or instructions.

Do not:

  • Diagnose a person or recommend a diagnosis.
  • Direct someone to begin, stop, or change medication or treatment.
  • Provide individualized medical, mental-health, clinical, legal, financial, or emergency advice.
  • Tell someone to ignore an official plan, provider instruction, court order, organizational policy, or emergency procedure.
  • Present personal experience as a guaranteed solution.
  • Claim that a Hunters Helpers resource replaces supervision, training, treatment, professional documentation, or qualified judgment.
  • Use the community to manage an active crisis, emergency, abuse report, missing-person situation, or immediate safety threat.

Members remain responsible for working within their own training, role, authority, professional boundaries, organizational policies, and applicable requirements.

Community Spaces Are Not Emergency Services

Hunters Helpers does not continuously monitor community activity and cannot guarantee that a post, comment, message, or report will be seen or answered immediately. Do not use the website or community to request emergency intervention. If someone is in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service.

Do not post sensitive emergency details publicly while waiting for help. Follow the appropriate emergency, reporting, supervisory, or professional procedure for your situation.

Share Information Responsibly

Members should distinguish personal experience, opinion, general information, and verified requirements.

  • Do not knowingly post false, deceptive, manipulated, or dangerously incomplete information.
  • Do not present rumors as facts.
  • Do not fabricate credentials, experience, endorsements, certifications, partnerships, or results.
  • Correct or update a post when you learn that important information is inaccurate.
  • Avoid recommendations that could expose someone to preventable harm.
  • When appropriate, encourage members to confirm important information with qualified professionals or official sources.

Hunters Helpers may remove content that appears misleading, unsafe, or outside the intended educational purpose of the community. Removal does not mean Hunters Helpers has reviewed or approved every other post.

Protect Your Account and Financial Information

  • Do not post passwords, login codes, recovery codes, payment-card details, banking information, or complete account numbers.
  • Do not ask another member to send this information.
  • Do not share a Hunters Helpers login with someone who has not been granted access.
  • Use a unique password and protect the email account connected to your membership.
  • Report suspected account misuse through Contact and Support.
  • Hunters Helpers will not ask members to post passwords or complete payment-card information in a community space.

Keep Participation Relevant

Do not:

  • Post repeated or irrelevant promotions.
  • Send unsolicited sales messages.
  • Use community spaces primarily to advertise products, services, fundraising, affiliate links, referral codes, or unrelated events.
  • Recruit clients, staff, contractors, or members without permission.
  • Collect member contact information for outside marketing.
  • Create misleading engagement, fake endorsements, or coordinated promotional activity.
  • Pressure members to purchase, donate, subscribe, join another platform, or disclose personal information.

Hunters Helpers may create designated spaces or approved opportunities for resource sharing, professional introductions, or announcements. Permission in one designated space does not authorize promotion everywhere else.

Respect Ownership and Resource Access

Only post material you created, own, are authorized to share, or are otherwise permitted to use.

  • Do not copy or repost copyrighted material without permission or another valid basis.
  • Credit the original source when appropriate.
  • Do not remove ownership, copyright, licensing, watermark, or attribution information.
  • Do not upload paid or protected Hunters Helpers resources to Groups, posts, shared drives, public websites, or outside platforms.
  • Do not share, transfer, reproduce, resell, or distribute Hunters Helpers materials beyond the access allowed by the applicable product terms, membership, license, and Member Resource Agreement.
  • A membership or purchase does not automatically grant permission to distribute a resource to an organization, team, class, client group, or public audience.

Represent Yourself Honestly

Do not:

  • Impersonate another person, organization, professional, moderator, or Hunters Helpers representative.
  • Use false names or credentials to mislead others.
  • Falsely claim professional licensure, certification, employment, partnership, endorsement, or authority.
  • Create an account for another person without permission.
  • Misrepresent your role in a client’s life, organization, or care team.

A member’s profile, title, or statement has not necessarily been verified or endorsed by Hunters Helpers.

Members Are Responsible for What They Share

These guidelines apply to member-created posts, comments, replies, group activity, resource suggestions, program discussions, direct interactions, and any future community space offered through Hunters Helpers.

  • Follow the rules of the specific group or program in addition to these guidelines.
  • Do not create a group, event, survey, form, or off-site community that appears to be officially operated or approved by Hunters Helpers unless authorization has been provided.
  • Group owners, organizers, or frequent contributors do not become Hunters Helpers staff, moderators, or professional representatives.
  • Members remain responsible for their own posts, files, links, statements, and interactions.
  • Moving a conversation to email, text, video, or another platform does not remove the need for appropriate privacy, safety, and professional boundaries.

How to Report a Post or Member

If a community feature provides a Report option, use it to report the relevant post, comment, message, or member. You may also contact Hunters Helpers through the Contact and Support page.

When reporting, provide:

  • The name of the group or community area
  • A link to or description of the content
  • The date or approximate time
  • A brief explanation of the concern
  • Screenshots only when necessary and only after removing unrelated confidential information

Do not include passwords, complete payment information, or unnecessary client-identifying information in a report.

Reporting does not guarantee a particular decision, action, or response time. Do not use the reporting process for emergencies.

How Hunters Helpers May Respond

Depending on the circumstances and available information, Hunters Helpers may take one or more actions, including:

  • Requesting clarification or a correction
  • Limiting the visibility of content
  • Editing or removing content when platform tools allow
  • Closing comments or discussions
  • Restricting posting or participation
  • Removing a member from a group or community feature
  • Suspending or terminating community or account access
  • Preserving relevant information when reasonably needed for safety, platform administration, dispute handling, or legal obligations
  • Referring a matter to the appropriate platform, organization, professional, or authority when required or appropriate

Hunters Helpers may consider context, seriousness, repetition, available evidence, risk, and the limitations of the platform. Not every report will result in removal or account action.

What Moderation Cannot Guarantee

Hunters Helpers does not promise to review every post, message, file, profile, group, or interaction before or after it appears. Moderation may be limited by platform tools, privacy settings, deleted content, incomplete reports, volume, timing, and information available to Hunters Helpers.

The presence of content does not mean that Hunters Helpers has reviewed, verified, approved, endorsed, or adopted it.

Hunters Helpers cannot guarantee that community spaces will be error-free, confidential, secure, continuously available, or free from inappropriate conduct. Members should use judgment, protect sensitive information, and report concerns through the appropriate channel.

Help Keep the Community Useful and Respectful

By participating in a Hunters Helpers community feature, members are expected to follow these guidelines together with any applicable site terms, product terms, membership agreement, group rules, and platform requirements.

Questions about these guidelines may be submitted through Contact and Support. Hunters Helpers cannot provide legal advice about an individual member’s responsibilities.
